Théâtre des Champs-ElyséesOne of Beethoven’s most daunting works
Beethoven composed Missa Solemnis for the enthronement of his great friend and pupil Archduke Rudolph. Beethoven was not a religious man but in his final years he did become deeply spiritual. This work is the most representative of that spirituality: from the heart – may it return to the heart. With four soloists and Vokalacademie Berlin choir, this short opera will be embodied by conductor Jérémie Rhorer.
