Vivaldi's Olympics-themed opera, part of the Cultural Paris 2024 Olympiad
The plot turns on a cheating scandal at the Olympic Games and on a tangled love situation involving two young men Megacle and Licida and two girls Aristea and Argene, none of whom can marry the one he/she really loves. But several twist and turns later they are reunited, and the opera concludes in a happy end.
Vivaldi’s musically rich and charming opera is performed by a perfect cast including the prodigious countertenor, Jakub Józef Orliński - Licida - with his unusual scenic ease and his passion for breakdance, staged by the creative Emmanuel Daumas and conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi one of the best connoisseurs of baroque vitality.

Berenice, the currently unmarried Queen of Egypt, loves Demetrio, Prince of Macedonia who loves Selene, Berenice’s sister. Selene also loves Demetrio, in secret and Prince Arsace loves Selene… But after many twists, the end will be a happy one.
The music conducted by Francesco Corti supports every dilemmas, between private love and public responsibility.

If the history of the Staatskapelle had to be condensed to just three composers, it would be Weber and his Jubel-Ouvertüre, performed in honor of King Frederick Augustus I. Wagner conducted his «Tannhäuser» there. As for Strauss' Sprach Zarathustra, the audience was so enthusiastic that the number of encores stays unique in the orchestra’s history.

Blake Works III - The Barre Project. William Forsythe dynamic and masterful ballet is set to the propulsive and beautifully structured music of James Blake. An absolute powerhouse of dance, it is riveting to watch Boston Ballet dancers master Forsythe’s challenging and innovative technique.
Bella Figura. Jiří Kylián’s piece is an exploration of the human form. This sensuous ballet captivates viewers with its raw beauty, sense of curiosity, and delicate intimacy. Known for its enticing music, the ballet is set to a selection of Baroque music.
Bach Cello Suites. Built on a classical foundation but filled with beautiful nuance and eccentricities and accompanied by a solo cellist onstage, ten dancers move in and out of expected and unexpected, often disrupted formations. Jorma Elo’s work is a breathtaking example of the juxtaposition of contemporary and classical dance and has earned its place as an audience favorite worldwide.
